Hi, I’m mandy

With a degree in Business from the distant past, a career in Sales & Marketing pre children and a number of part-time jobs whilst raising a family, retraining in midlife to become a Health Coach seemed a bit of a crazy idea!

However, studying with the College of Naturopathic Medicine to learn more about anatomy & physiology, diet & nutrition, fitness, and of course, coaching, completely changed the course of my life. I started studying because I was invested in my own health. Sadly, I lost my dad prematurely when I was 30 from cancer but he’d had two heart attacks prior to that, so I’d always been very conscious of my genetics. 

I never considered myself to be 'unhealthy'; like many others I just accepted the way I felt as ‘normal’. I tried to stay healthy by being active and chasing a number on the scales, which only now I realise doesn’t exist. I often managed to lose weight but only through restriction and have since learnt it’s more about what you add to your diet to nourish you that makes the most difference to the way you feel. Food is just one aspect of health, your environment, stress levels, sleep routine and physical activity all play a role. 

Having learnt that “our genes load the gun, but our environment pulls the trigger” I now feel more in control of my future. Over the last few years, with the support of my family I have made significant lifestyle changes, making me feel more in balance. I am now passionate about sharing what I have learnt to help others effect positive behavioural change.

My Approach

First of all, I like to get to know YOU. It’s really important for me to understand your history and where you are with your health journey, so I can support you to get to your goals. With a friendly and informal approach, I always aim to make you feel relaxed and confident to discuss your concerns and aspirations. I prefer meeting face to face because I believe this helps us to build a stronger relationship but understand that’s not always easy to fit into a busy schedule, so I’m also happy to meet over Zoom.

My STYLE

I take a holistic approach to health, which means I’m not just going to consider your physical health,  I’m going to look at what you eat and when, your sleep routine, your stress levels, how much movement and exercise you get, your social life and much more but what we focus on will be down to you as much as what I believe will make the most difference. My aim is to empower you to take control of your health.

I’ll help you to set realistic goals, develop sustainable habits, and track your progress. It’s not always a smooth journey but I’m here to support you, motivate you and hold you accountable along the way. I will always try to provide the information you need to make meaningful changes, along with evidence to back up its importance. My goal is for you to succeed and feel better than you have done in a long time.
